Property Rights
I believe the Bill of Rights says it all.
The Fifth
Amendment states we are not to “be deprived of life,
liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property
be taken for public use, without just compensation.
The Chatham County Corridor (land-use limits)ordinance is an attempt to dictate to citizens what we can and can not do with our property which by law belongs to [us] the property owner.
Put simply, I see this as unconstitutional, unethical and unacceptable.
The Corridor Ordinance, which appears to be built on the "Smart
Growth" model, should be abandoned.
I would agree with fellow republican candidate
Brian Bock, that "Flex
Growth" makes more sense for Chatham County.
