Property Rights

Property RightsI believe the Bill of Rights says it all.

The Fifth Amendment states we are not to “be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

The Chatham County Corridor (land-use limits)ordinance is an attempt to dictate to citizens what we can and can not do with our property which by law belongs to [us] the property owner.

Put simply, I see this as unconstitutional, unethical and unacceptable.  The Corridor Ordinance, which appears to be built on the "Smart Growth" model, should be abandoned.  I would agree with fellow republican candidate Brian Bock, that "Flex Growth" makes more sense for Chatham County.
