Professional

I am employed by Bayer in Research Triangle Park, NC, where I work in Corporate Communications as Web Communications Manager.  I have worked in the Life Science/Agriculture industry for 22 years, the past 15 years specifically focused on web technology.

As Manager of Web Communications, I lead a team of professionals focusing on new technology and development.  I serve on several corporate international web media teams and attend the annual Industry Summit in Washington, DC.

In addition to my technology role, I spent several years studying leadership principles, employee engagement and building high performance teams. I am a certified facilitator in Crucial Conversations and teach dialog skills to employees within the organization.

As a strong supporter of science education, I organized a local volunteer group for Bayer’s “Making Science Make Sense” science education reform program that promotes science education in area schools through hands on training and education.

I not only take science to the classroom but also work with area teachers to discover ways that our volunteers, in a science based industry, can assist by sharing our expertise in the field of science to educate their students.  We’ve also partnered with non-traditional schools like Durham Performance Learning Center where we teach monthly Biology classes, community organizations like Passage Home and speaking on the topic of sustainability to international students.
